Treatment and Location
Treatment
The main character wakes up to the sound of his alarm clock ringing, thisbis shown through a close up of the clock. A second close up follows this of the charcter waking up from a long and fulfilling sleep.
A high angle shot is then used to show the charcter rubbing his eyes as he begins to wake up emphasising the fact that he is a very tired teenager. A close up of the characters toes touching the floor shows him getting out of bed to begin his day.
The character then sits on the end of his bed before getting up. A tracking shot is then used to show the character walking out of his bedroom and in to his bathroom. The character then comes out of his toilet dressed and ready to leave his house.
A medium shot shows the character clutching the door handle before leaving the house. A long shout from down the street shows him leaving his garden and setting off on his journey. Further down the street the character comes across a key lay on the pavement. The character is unsure of the keys origin and begins to try it in many different doors and locations shown through a montage.
As sebastian goes to open one fo the last doors somebody opens it from the other side, hitting sebastion, playing the main character in the head, consequently knocking him out. As the character lies their on the pavement, the previous nights events begin to unfold...

Research and Analysis Videos
The Napoleon Dynamite clip is also relevant due to its subtle persona, something which we aim to achieve in our own movie, in addition to this our main character shows a clear resemblence to Napoleon Dynamite himself.
Juno again has the same calm feel that we aim to achieve, however, the opening sequence enters into a graphically enhanced world where all of the houses are white and the character appears to be sketched. In order to see if it would be possible for us to incorporate this idea we experimented with it on Adobe Photoshop.

Shots
In this clip there isn't many shots involved. All together there is approximately 3 shots. These shots used are establishing shot, medium shot and a close up. The establishing shot is used to show a view of the location.
The medium shot is used to show the guy on his bed reaching out to his alarm clock. Finaly there is a close up on the character on his bed who just woke up.
Sound of the man speaking, and alarm ringing,, close up of face, the mise en scene was used by using the mansshirt as the same clour waya as the autumn weather outside witch collrelated well with its lumbr jack look, simulary the beard and hair colour i.e. brown, also matched the weather, the mise en scene is also used in negotiantion with the lamps in the room, the grey colour carpet and the narator's explaining death.
in the clip i watched http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgGf13rFJqk, there does not appear to be any titles, the use of sound is used, before the narative of the man telling us about his life, uses mellow sounding 3 beat xylophone as is the emphaise the humour of the film as xylophone is an unusual often comdic intrument, the 3 beat symphony is sumit u'd imagine as by "someone who plods thru life", this music is overlaid with
the narator telling the overall stroy of the film,
Napoleon Dynamite Opening Credits
Number of Shots
One continuous close up shot of the changing plates.
Camera Angles
The camera angles are all the same throughout, from above looking down on the changing plates of food.
Shot Types
Close up from above of changing plates of fake food.
Use of Sound
The use of sound is mostly just non digetic acoustic music that sets the quiet scene and genre of the film, this is effective as it gives the viewer an insight into what the film is going to be like.
Mise en Scene
The use of mise en scene is limited in this opening credits as it is just a table with plates of paper food cut outs throughout making it ineffective in most ways, but effective in the way that it sets the scene for the mellow film.
Use of Titles
The use of titles is very limited and has little effect other than introducing the cast and crew of the film, however it is presented in a very unique way as it is incorprated with the opening shot of the plates of paper food.
Continuity
Continuity was easily achieved due to the use of just one long shot.
What could be achieved
Realistically, all of the effects achieved in the opening credits due to their simplicity, such as the one shot used and the paper cut outs.
JUNO - "All I Want Is You" Video
Number of Shots
25
Shot angles
Large range, mostly side on with the use of some low and high angle shots.
Shot Types
Large variation used in the animated cartoon style, such as close ups, high angle shots etc.
Sound
Effective continuous non digetic music.
Mise en Scene
Cartoon style housing/street etc, is not clear what the rest of the film is going to be like as the cartoon does not set a real life scene.
What could we do
Having experimented with the style of this opening sequence we realised that although possible it would be in practically and extremely time consuming to pursue our project this way.

Preliminary Task Evaluation
During the preliminary task we learnt that simple camera angles and shots are easy to edit together and make them fit in with each other.
In the filming and editing of your project, what worked well and what could hve been improved?
The cutting of the shots worked well, in a sense that it ran quite smoothly in the final cut of the movie, because we were using only one camera we had to be sure the walking and talking looked realistic and the veiwer would not be aware of the editing, this was alot harder than we first imagined, however the final cut appear's quite smooth, secondly we found that discoving camera angles and keeping the camera perfectly still meant the film was alot nicer for the veiwer to watch than a jumpy hand held film,
We think that perhaps the overall audio of the video, with the dialouge, seems to appear a little jumpy and perhaps a more smoother final cut would hav been looked alot better on the final cut.
Give a deatiled, specific example of how you have used a shot/reverse shot combination in your film.
During our preliminary task we used a shot reverse shot during the conversation between the two charcters. The camera begins over the shoulder of one of the actors and then then reverses to show the character speaking.
Give a detailed, specific example of how you achieved match cuts during the editing process.
When filming our preliminary task we achieved a match cut when the first charcter begins walking into the room. The camera shows the charcter entering the room and then match cuts to just after he has entered, and begins walking towards the camera
How did you make sure that you didn't break the 180 degree rule? Or if you broke it, what have you learned from this.
To make sure we did not break the 180 degree rule we, did not pass the line, we made sure that both the actors in the shot remained on the original side in which they appeared. we also controlled the actors to make sure they did not cross the line.
